Matt Damon to Star in Adaptation of ‘We Bought a Zoo’ Memoir
Matt Damon will play U.K. writer Benjamin Mee in an adaptation of the book, We Bought a Zoo: The Amazing True Story of a Young Family, a Broken Down Zoo, and the 200 Wild Animals That Change Their Lives Forever.
An article in Variety had more: “Damon has signed on for the lead role in the pic about a struggling single father who moves his family to an estate that turns out to be a zoo.”
Aline Brosh McKenna wrote the script. Mee worked as a journalist The Guardian and wrote the humor column, “Do It Yourself.” A collection of his articles were compiled in the book, The Call of DIY: A Toolkit of Practical Wisdom.
