Memorial Service Planned for VQR Managing Editor Kevin Morrissey
Yesterday Kevin Morrissey, the managing editor of the Virginia Quarterly Review, died tragically.
For readers in Virginia, a memorial service for Morrissey (pictured, via) has been scheduled for Friday. Shelf Awareness has a short interview with Morrissey about the books and writers he loved.
Here’s more from VQR: “Kevin’s death has left his family, friends, and colleagues grieving deeply. As managing editor of the VQR for the past six years. Kevin was a highly valued member of our small, tightly-knit team. He was more than just an brilliant and creative editor. Kevin was family. … A memorial service to celebrate Kevin’s life and honor his memory will be held from 3 PM to 5 PM on Friday, August 6 at the University of Virginia on the third floor of Newcomb Hall.”
