Altman Gives Twelve Inside Dope on MoviesTwelve, the Hachette Book Group imprint that enables Jonathan Karp and his team to focus on one book a month, has just announced that it's signed filmmaker Robert Altman to pen his memoirs. "Some of the stories in this book will be about the work itself," the press release quotes the acclaimed writer-director. "Some will be about the fun we had together. Some will be about the problems and ways we got around them." You gotta figure that those last two categories will include anecdotes about Altman's preferred method of self-medication...420 pages worth, if I can make a guess. (OK, I admit it, that was weak, but cut me some slack—it's a holiday, after all.) No word on a release date; then again, it doesn't sound like they have a complete manuscript yet...I just hope he puts in the story about sticking Warren Beatty in a snowbank for hours on end.
