Now Even Fake Bloggers Are Getting Book Deals
Yesterday afternoon, Faber & Faber announced that it had signed conservative think tank scholare and blogger Martin Eisenstadt to write a book about his involvement with John McCain’s failed presidential campaign. You may recall Eisenstadt’s claims to be the source of the rumor that Sarah Palin didn’t know Africa was a continent; you might even have heard the rumor he spread about Joe the Plumber hooking up with a Saturday Night Live cast member the weekend before the election. Here’s the thing: Eisenstadt isn’t real; he’s a character created by Eitan Gorlin and Dan Mirvish as a long, elaborate practical joke. Or is he?
Here’s an example of Eisenstadt on the campaign trail, endeavoring to explain that he didn’t really tell a BBC reporter that McCain was having an affair with Michelle Malkin.
Heck, as far as we can tell, it’s just as convincing than that K Street show about Washington lobbyists HBO ran a couple years back. But we can’t help wondering what’s next from Faber: the memoirs of former Hollywood It Girl Allegra Coleman?
Anyway, the book’s being rushed for May 2009 publication as a trade paperback original.
