NY Literary Scene Goes to the Dogs

fosterwithdog.jpgThe inclusion of a few signed copies of James Frey’s A Million Little Pieces was enough to make Page Six sit up and take notice of the silent auction for the Louisiana SPCA which will be taking place at Ken Foster’s B Bar book party tonight (following the reading for his new book, The Dogs Who Found Me, at the Astor Place B&N). But Foster (at left with Brando, one of the three adopted dogs who star in his memoir) has also gotten signed books from Cindy Adams, Amy Hempel, Chuck Barris, and Jonathan Lethem; Susan Orleans’ autographed copy of Throw Me a Bone even comes with a batch of hand-baked doggie biscuits. And, in the interest of full disclosure, I should also mention that another of the items up for bid is a year’s membership in mediabistro.com’s own AvantGuild program and free registration for one of our online courses.
