On the Party Scene

maiasparty2.jpgI dropped in at Serena last night at the book party for Maia Szalavitz’s Help at Any Cost: How the Troubled-Teen Industry Cons Parents and Hurts Kids. The room was a chatty mix of print and TV journalists and public policy experts, befitting Szalavitz’s background as a former producer for Charlie Rose, Barbara Walters, and Bill Moyers and current senior fellow at media watchdog group Stats.org. Here, Szalavitz (at far left) relaxes with moderation counselor Ana Kosok and World Policy institute fellow Michele Wucker, who’s also got a book coming out very soon: Lockout: Why America Keeps Getting Immigration Wrong When Our Prosperity Depends on Getting It Right.
