Outcasts United by Warren St. John

Warren St. John’s heartwarming and inspirational story, Outcasts United is my Featured Book of Color Pick of the Day.

It tells the story of a young refugee team of soccer players whose families have come from all over the world to settle in a small town in Georgia . There are so many cultures that they could easily clash and sometimes they do, but this special soccer team bonds them all. It is a soccer coach, a woman, who decides to unite all these refugees into one team so that kids of all colors can enjoy the sport of the game and the joys of friendship.

Written by bestselling author and New York Times reporter, Warren St. John, I’m surprised they haven’t made a film of this yet and wouldn’t be surprised if I get word that it is in the works.
