‘Page Six’: Hoping Gossip Counts as Word-of-Mouth?

After quoting from Legs McNeil’s ‘Page Six’ attack on Martin Amis, Gawker wonders aloud, “Shouldn’t ‘Page Six’ mention that their parent company’s publishing arm is releasing McNeil’s book?”

The real question, though, might be why anyone expects something like journalism from a paper that lists its corporate sister as a section.
