Actress Portia de Rossi inked a deal to publish her memoir with Simon & Schuster imprint Atria Books. de Rossi (pictured, via) will write about her health struggles and her marriage to television star Ellen DeGeneres.
Atria editorial director Peter Borland acquired North American, audio, and electronic publishing rights to the book. The deal was negotiated by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh. Publication is set for fall 2010. de Rossi has appeared in a number of television shows, including Ally McBeal, Arrested Development, and Better Off Ted.
Here’s more from the release: “de Rossi shares the truth of her long battle to overcome anorexia and bulimia, chronicling the physical trauma of the disease, as well as the shame and fear she endured battling her illness while living in the public eye. The book’s final section will explore the new happiness and health she has found in recent years–including her coming out and her marriage to Ellen DeGeneres.”
