Thomson Financial reports that the European Commission said the deadline for its inquiry into UK investment fund Bridgepoint Capital's proposed 774 mln eur acquisition of publishing group Wolters Kluwer's education unit is set for May 31. The sale is expected to be closed in June and Wolters Kluwer will use 475 mln eur to finance a share buyback, while using the rest of the proceeds to reduce debt and invest in the company.
