Following the Washington Post Co.’s announcement that they would “explore the possible sale of NEWSWEEK,” Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Newsweek editor Jon Meacham has expressed hopes to buy the magazine.
Here’s more from The Awl: “Meacham said that he will be lining up financiers and trying to make a bid to buy the magazine himself. He has already had inquiries from some very well-off types this morning. Tonight’s Daily Show appearance–he’s been booked for ages–should be really something!”
Meacham has written a number of books and won the Pulitzer Prize for the biography, American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House. (Via Sarah Weinman)
