Rumors of a $2.5 Million Bid for Chesley Sullenberger’s Book
Our siblings over at FishbowlNY are reporting on rumors that Captain Chesley Sullenberger, the pilot who managed to land an airplane in the frozen Hudson River on January 15, 2009, is shopping a proposal.
The brief post speculates that bidding could have climbed into the $2.5 million range. As his extensive Wikipedia entry illustrates, Sullenberger’s life could make a bright and shiny memoir–certified genius as a child, fighter pilot experience, and a brilliant landing during the crash of US Airways Flight 1549.
One GalleyCat editor hates airplanes, but nevertheless, we’d love to help FishbowlNY confirm or deny these speculations: “We’re hearing rumors that Hero of the Hudson pilot, Captain Chesley Sullenberger, may be shopping a book around New York publishing houses. It’s unclear whether or not this is some sort of memoir, or how many houses are bidding.”
