Sana Krasikov Wins $100,000 Sami Rohr Prize

This morning the Jewish Book Council announced that Sana Krasikov has won the 2009 Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature, a $100,000 award for her debut short story collection, “One More Year.”

GalleyCat caught up with Krasikov at the 2008 NY Public Library Young Lions Award ceremony for a video interview, getting her thoughts on the publishing meltdown and her upcoming work.

Here’s more from the release: “In 2006, in celebration of Sami Rohr’s 80th birthday, his children and grandchildren inaugurated the Sami Rohr Prize to honor his lifelong love of Jewish literature …Dalia Sofer, author of The Septembers of Shiraz (Ecco), as the 2009 recipient of the $25,000 Sami Rohr Prize Choice Award.”
