Signed 1st Edition J.D. Salinger and Jack Kerouac Books Up for Auction

rare books salinger.jpg The online auction site Charitybuzz has featured two literary auctions: signed first editions of J.D. Salinger‘s The Catcher in the Rye and Jack Kerouac‘s On the Road.

Appraisals judge each book to be worth more than $25,000. The money raised from this event will benefit Cure for Cancers. Both auction items include an authentication certificate verifying the value of these rare items. The auctions will end on October 14th.

As of this writing, the highest bidder for The Catcher in the Rye had pledged $2,750 while On the Road stood at $500.


This summer, an eBay seller put Salinger’s toilet up for sale with an asking price of $1 million.
