Special Gift for BAM Shareholders

Books-A-Million announced that the Board of Directors has declared a special one-time dividend of $3.00 per share. The dividend will be paid on July 5, 2007, to shareholders of record at the close of business on June 20, 2007. A total of approximately $50.4 million will be paid on the Company’s 16.8 million outstanding shares of common stock as a result of the special dividend.
