Spider-Man Meets H. P. Lovecraft in “Most Terrifying Cartoon Ever Made”

For the last few years, comic book fans have shared a surreal 1970 Spider-Man cartoon on YouTube–an episode where the web-slinging hero confronted an inter-dimensional monster straight out of the cosmic horror stories of H. P. Lovecraft.

Author and television blogger Kliph Nesteroff once called Spider-Man: Revolt in the Fifth Dimension “simply the most terrifying cartoon ever made.” For your weekend viewing pleasure, the first part of the cartoon is embedded above, follow this link to watch the second part.

The post raises an excellent question. What books scared the living daylights out of you as a kid? After watching the Spider-Man cartoon, share your thoughts in the comments section. (Via Alex Irvine)
