“Under Musetta’s influence,” Clea Simon reports, “I’ve written a short mystery story about a grumpy pet psychic (call it ‘pet noir’) called ‘Dumb Beasts.’ The story will be published by Level Best in November’s Deadfall: An Anthology of Crime Fiction and, Simon says, ” I’m doing my best to turn it into a full-length mystery.”
