Dutton to Publish Second Book by ‘Parks & Recreation’ Star Nick Offerman

nickParks & Recreation actor Nick Offerman (pictured, via) has signed a deal with Penguin’s Dutton imprint to pen his second book. The publisher released his memoir, Paddle Your Own Canoe, on October 01, 2013.

The not-yet-titled book will profile 25 figures in American history who Offerman revers from President George Washington to country music superstar Willie Nelson. With this project, Offerman also plans to write about a variety of topics including politics, woodworking, agriculture, creativity, philosophy, and meat.

Nick Offerman Lands Book Deal

Hearty Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman has inked a book deal for a “humorous memoir peppered with salty treatises about the state of manhood” with Penguin’s Dutton imprint.

Paddle Your Own Canoe: Nick Offerman’s Fundamentals for Delicious Living, is scheduled for an October 2013 release. Levine Greenberg Literary Agency agents Monika Verma and Daniel Greenberg negotiated the deal. Executive editor Jill Schwartzman will edit the memoir.

He plays Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation, and counts more than 107,000 followers on Twitter.
