The Globalization of Narnia

I’m not sure if my irony-meter is set on high or I’m reacting strangely to this bit of news, but then again, why shouldn’t there be an Arabic translation of the CHRONICLES OF NARNIA? It’s just that I’m not totally sure I agree with Sinan Sweis of Ophir Publishing, the company responsible for the Arabic versions: “If C.S Lewis succeeded 50 years ago in taking millions of children, and still is, into the enchanting world of Narnia, our children also can take part in this magnificent trip.”

Maybe, except for the whole Christian symbolism that goes from subtle to hammer-on-head-whacking in the later books…
