The Literary Scene in Inwood

Last month, we caught up with Mary Elizabeth Williams (left) at the Housing Works party for Gimme Shelter, her memoir of grappling with New York City’s real estate market. Monday night, she had another event for the book, this time at the Indian Road Café in Inwood, which as it happens is where the last scene in the book takes place. Among those joining her for the reading/discussions was Stacy Horn, whose Unbelievable: Investigations into Ghosts, Poltergeists, Telepathy, and Other Unseen Phenomena from the Duke Parapsychology Laboratory was also published last month. The two authors are also members of the online community ECHO (well, okay, Horn’s more than a member; she founded it in 1990).
