Training the Next Generation of Conspiracy Nuts

To promote John Farndon‘s Do Not Open, a young person’s guide to “the world’s best-kept secrets” such as alien autopsies, crop circles, and Jack the Ripper*, staffers at DK ran around the office with a video camera making a video trailer that looks like a cross between The Lone Gunmen, The Blair Witch Project, and The Bloodhound Gang.

For the second video in the series, the crew moved to the basement of a DK publicist; more videos are promised in the near future. It looks like the videos may tie in to some puzzle element in the book and its website, too.

*Yeah, those two pages are a bit of a stretch; it’s not like there’s anything “secret” about the killings except that they’ve never been solved, and the list of potential suspects Farndon provides doesn’t break any ground. In fact, one of the best suspects (William Gull) barely rates a passing mention. But there’s always Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell‘s From Hell, for when the kids are a bit older.
