VH1 Reboots Publication Strategy
Our FishbowlNY cousins told us VH1 is launching a new imprint called VH1 Press to be distributed by powerHouse Books, which we assume supersedes the previous arrangement the “music network” had with Pocket. It’ll launch later this year with the publication of Edie: Factory Girl, piggybacking on the media hoopla surrounding the release of an Edie Sedgwick biopic.
Turns out that assumption was wrong: Michael Cader reports that VH1 Press was created specifically as a “high-end” line for books that don’t fit into the existing VH1 Books paradigm.
