Switzerland's MONEC Holding has sued Apple in Virginia district court over the iPhone's digital reading applications. The communications company alleged that Apple infringed on a patent the company held for a mobile e-reader.

The suit doesn't specify which e-reader applications violate the patent, but AppleInsider notes the suit came weeks after Amazon released a digital reader app for the iPhone, competing against the popular Stanza e-reader.
