Mobile Entertainment Forum Sets GuidelinesMediaPost reports that the Mobile Entertainment Forum just issued a set of guidelines for services that give mobile users the ability to interact with television shows, such as text-voting for American Idol contestants.
The idea is that all initiatives on mobile that involve interaction with TV should follow the same rules. This is in order to prevent mishaps such as votes being counted even if they're submitted after a contest's deadline. The group also issued specific guidelines for service pricing and for customers to get refunds when necessary. The new guidelines also references the FCC's "truth-in-billing" principles to increase consumers' understanding of their cell phone bills, according to the report. To that last one, we raise our glasses in celebration. Mobile Entertainment Forum Issues Guidelines [MediaPost] Email This Post |
