Tune into iTunes from Windows Media Center, Xbox
Digital music consumers generally fall into one of two camps - Windows Media or iTunes. That was pretty true until all those Windows Media Center users got iPhones and ended up with two separate, incompatible music collections. Proxure has come out with a new MCE Tunes application that allows users to listen to and watch their iTunes music and video content in the Windows Media Player and the Windows Media Center interface. This includes streaming iTunes music to an Xbox game console and other Media Center Extenders. Once the MCE Tunes software is installed, it syncs the user's iTunes library so it can be played within Windows Media Center. Music is played natively in the Media Player music area; video is played in a separate MCE Tunes Video Player. Other features include the ability to set the software to automatically sync nightly, re-create iTunes playlists in WMP and import album artwork, metadata and track ratings. The software goes for $29.99, but Proxure does offer a free trial version that enables the playback of 20 music tracks. Email This Post |
