Mywaves Gets First MTVN Ad-Supported Mobile Content
Mywaves founder and CEO Rajeev Raman told MobileContentToday that his company has been in talks with MTVN for some time. He sees the deal as a good fit for both sides because MTV's umbrella of brands "are very much oriented at the young adult, particularly male," audience that makes up the vast majority of mywaves viewers. As for MTVN, it offers content through some 80 distribution deals and 40 on-demand and streaming mobile video services and still wants to make more of its goodies accessible to more consumers on more mobile phones. "It's crucial that we embrace the ad-supported model," Alice Kim, senior VP of digital distribution and partner relations at MTVN said in a statement. Giving fans free access to some content will also drive viewers "back to our core TV channels, Web and mobile properties," she believes. Email This Post |
