Quattro Wireless Launches Mobile Publishing PlatformQuattro Wireless is unveiling a self-serve mobile publishing and advertising platform to let smaller sites set up quickly and cheaply on the mobile Web, according to a MediaPost report. The startup's GetMobile service "offers publishers a set of tools for converting wired sites to the mobile Web and gives advertisers access to a bid-per-click mobile ad exchange and templates for creating ads." Quattro currently operates a mobile ad network built around 60 large, branded sites including NBA.com, NFL.com, Playboy Mobile and CBS.com, the report said. A recent JupiterResearch report estimated the cost of creating a basic mobile Web site at $20,000 to $100,000. Sort of like an Adobe Pagemill or Macromedia Dreamweaver for mobile, this should help smaller companies get started on the mobile Web. Adobe already offers tools like this as part of its Adobe Device Central package, though with out the advertising hooks.
