Industry Biggies Band Together over LTEA group of industry giants have come together in support of Long Term Evolution (LTE). Reuters reports that Nokia, Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, NEC, NextWave Wireless, Nokia Siemens Networks and Sony Ericsson have agreed to license their patents "on fair and reasonable terms" in an effort to encourage increased adoption of the next-generation network technology. The royalty framework they're adopting will keep the aggregate royalty level for LTE intellectual property rights in handsets under 10% of the sales price.
