Off-Deck mobile video provider mywaves has signed two new distribution deals--one with Nokia that will expose N-series handset users to the service's wealth of free video content, as well as a deal with Columbia Records that will add nine new music video channels (featuring Columbia artists) to mywave's 200,000-plus channel roster, according to a new MediaPost report.

"With the Nokia deal, mywaves joins giants like Reuters and Sony Pictures in the delivery of mobile video via the Nokia Video Center."

These deals continue to stir up the pot in the mobile media sector. At the same time, they're all happening in their own little world. By that we mean that anyone who doesn't have the appropriate carrier, or even specific supported handsets would likely never hear about it. It's as if you bought an HP computer, and because it's an HP, you can go to CNN and Arista Web sites and download content, but not MSNBC and Sony Pictures.
