Oregon Ski Resort Offers Mobile CouponsThrough a new deal with RocketBux, the Oregon-based Mt. Bachelor resort will be able to beam skiers scannable mobile coupons, in addition to the daily snow condition text messages they already send, according to MediaPost. RocketBux embeds a link in each promotional text message, and users with Web-enabled mobile phones can click on the link to open the coupon page, the report said. For now, the coupons are for one of the resort's restaurants; cashiers at the counter can then scan the barcode right off the cell phone using a normal barcode scanner. This arrangement means that anyone with a Web-capable cell phone can view the coupons, instead of having to download a specific application for their handset first.
