Vodafone First To Go with Facebook Mobile PlatformFacebook is getting serious about the mobile space and Vodafone is helping. According to a report in PC World, the social networker has launched the Facebook for Mobile Operators platform, a solution that mobile operators can use to improve the way Facebook works on their handsets. Vodafone, one of the biggest operators of them all, is the first to sign on to use the new platform, trying it out first in the UK and Germany, PC World quotes Jed Stremel, the director of Facebook's mobile division, as saying. The new platform should help Facebook lure more operators into offering a true mobile version of the service - and make many of the 64 million Facebook users more willing to give the on-the-go version a try. According to Stremel, the unsupported version of Facebook Mobile has six million users. Email This Post |
