The Pellicano Briefs: Judy Miller Redux? [FishbowlLA]
We keep reading more and more of John Hanusz's amazing scoop and our jaw keeps dropping lower and lower
What's so disturbing is, like the Plame case the Times' David Halbfinger and Alison Hope Weiner may well be subpoenaed and compelled to testify as to who their source(s) were.
What You're Missing
[FishbowlDC]
if you're not privy to The Washington Post's internal critique board. Deep thoughts and other gems of wisdom from Courtland Milloy: Len Downie asked on August 26: "Are we certain what booty bass is, despite the sentence defining it?" No one has dared touch that. Until now.
The Sundancing of Tribeca [FishbowlNY]
We realize this may not be a popular or particularly fair comparison. But lost in the hype surrounding this year's 5th anniversary of the Tribeca Film Festival, which kicked off yesterday, and its debut of the controversial United 93 is something that is perhaps endemic to all well-meaning festivals music, film or otherwise: Commercialization, or, more accurately, mass appeal.
Snow Is "Half Crazy To Want That Job" [TVNewser]
FNC's Brian Wilson, a fellow host of "Weekend Live," has "mixed emotions" about Tony Snow's new job. "Because I count Tony as a friend, I am happy for his personal success. I also worry about the man's sanity. You have to be half crazy to want that job," he writes.
CopyKaavya: Crown Issues the Smackdown [GalleyCat]
It's day three of the plagiarism scandal du jour, and Crown -- who published the Megan McCafferty books Kaavya Viswanathan admitted to using as source material for her own book -- isn't exactly happy with the issued apologies by the author and her own publisher, Little, Brown.
The Grandest Hoax of All Time (or of this week) [UnBeige]
Well this writer has been successfully had. From a post the other day, "A Typographer's Biography," which we'd written as a tribute to learning about a typographer we'd never heard of, doesn't so much exist. An astute reader dropped us a line to say that Chalet, the typographer in question, is a complete fabrication of House Industries.
In Praise Of: FolderShare [MBToolBox]
Last week I sung the praises of one of my favorite tools. Today, one of my other favorite tools. Steve Delahoyde talks about what is making his life easier these days: I'm a big fan of this new thing Microsoft just rolled out called FolderShare. It's a web-based file sharing service that allows you access to any of the computers you install the software on.
