Industry Outsider to Run Random House (WSJ)
German media giant Bertelsmann AG has tapped the head of its printing unit, Markus Dohle, to head its Random House unit, a move that could shake up the big and influential book-publishing business, says a person familiar with the situation. The appointment puts oversight of one of the world's largest and most important book publishers in the hands of an outsider to the industry. NYT: The appointment of Dohle is Bertlesmann's most significant move since Hartmut Ostrowski took over as chief executive of the company in January.

Fans Resist End of Virtual Disneyland (WSJ)
For Walt Disney Co., the task of opening a virtual version of Disneyland on the Web was relatively easy. Closing it, though, is proving to be quite a bit more difficult, thanks to the wrath of obsessive fans of Disney's theme parks. On Wednesday night, however, Disney plans to throw everyone out of VMK and lock the gates erasing their online profiles, lives, and collections of virtual trinkets and real estate.
Emeril Lagasse to Switch to Fine Living Network (AP)
Emeril Lagasse is leaving the Food Network's prime-time schedule for the Fine Living Network, a move the chef hopes will mean a second course of Emeril Live! The show that combines cooking, music and the chef's own energetic personality has been a staple of the Food Network's prime-time lineup since its 1997 debut.
