Murdoch: Journal Will Worry About Structure First, Then Find the Talent (NYO)
Rupert Murdoch spoke at The D Conference this week, and laid out more non-specific but interesting plans for the Journal. Local online revenue is expected to skyrocket this year, up 50 percent to $13.1 billion, according to a study released Thursday by Borrell Associates. Who Will Unplug Big Media? (The Nation)
Robert McChesney and John Nichols: We will need the right media reform movement one that is aggressive in its demands regardless of who sits in the White House, savvy in its approach to the FCC and Congressional committees, bipartisan and determined to build broad coalitions, and focused not just on playing defense but on shaping popular media for the twenty-first century.
