Apple Expected To Launch 13" Retina MacBook Pro By Early Oct (AppleInsider)
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI shared in a note with AppleInsider on Thursday that he expects Apple to ramp up production of a 13-inch next-generation MacBook Pro with Retina display in September. That would allow the product to hit stores in early October, in time for the holiday shopping season.
Microsoft to Buy Yammer (WSJ)
Business-software company Yammer Inc. agreed to sell itself to Microsoft Corp. for $1.2 billion, according a person familiar with the matter, in a sign Microsoft may be trying to plug holes in its ubiquitous Office software. It is unclear when the Yammer acquisition will be completed and announced, according to the person familiar with the deal.
New Google+ Hangouts YouTube App Lets You Get The YouTube Party Started (SocialTimes)
Google+ just made it a whole lot easier to share your favorite videos with your friends in a virtual YouTube party with a new YouTube app in Google+ Hangouts. Software engineer Ullas Gargi writes on the YouTube blog, "Create, control, save and even share playlists of videos with your friends -- all inside a Hangout. Just start a Hangout, have everyone load the YouTube app at the top of the screen, and start adding videos. It's like your own VIP table at the world's coolest YouTube party."
