NBC Wonders If It Should Have Actually Tape-Delayed the Olympics More (AdAge)
Though NBC drew criticism for not airing more of the games live, showcasing taped events in prime time "undeniably" helped ratings, NBC Sports Chairman Mark Lazarus said. He said he wondered if NBC should have tape-delayed more events, such as the U.S. men's gold-medal basketball game and the men's tennis finals between Andy Murray and Roger Federer, which were live.

But on October 16, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is finally releasing Avatar on Blu-ray 3D, the way it was meant to be experienced.

When the news broke Friday night that Mitt Romney's running mate would be Rep. Paul Ryan, the news channels didn't get much of a ratings bump. In fact, for MSNBC, the ratings dropped precipitously -- down 1/3 in the demo -- when the network switched from Lock Up to extended coverage of the news at midnight.
