Could Satellite TV Get Creamed by Cable? (Wired/Epicenter)
Satellite television used to be a richly profitable business. Now satellite broadcasters face competition from all corners, growth has slowed, and the technology looks dated. Intel, Yahoo Unveil Partnership to Redesign HDTVs (PC)
On Wednesday, Intel and Yahoo announced a sweeping initiative to bring a widget-based platform to embed applications -- and ads -- directly on your HDTV. Several major CE manufacturers expressed support. The two also announced the combination of the Intel Media Processor CE3100 ("formerly known as "Canmore") with the Yahoo open widget-based platform for TV.
Obama Rips Fox News (Politico)

Rwandan Minister Threatens to Cut Off BBC, VOA (RNW/Media Network)
The Rwandan Minister of Information has accused the BBC and Voice of America of "destroying the unity of the Rwandans" through their programmes in the national languages that are available on FM in the capital Kigali. Louise Mushikiwabo warned that the Rwandan government has "the capacity and the right" to suspend the broadcasting of these transmissions on its territory.
