ABC To Finally Release Jackie Kennedy's Secret White House Tapes (Business Insider / The Wire)
Shortly after her husband's assassination, Jackie Kennedy recorded a series of tapes with historian Arthur Schlesinger Jr. that at her request were to be sealed in a vault for 50 years. The Kennedy family has allowed them to be released early -- possibly as part of a deal Caroline Kennedy made with Disney to pull the Kennedy miniseries starring Katie Holmes -- and ABC is set to air a special on them on Sept. 13.
WikiLeaks Accuses The Guardian Of Leaking Passwords To Unredacted Cables; Guardian Denies (HuffPost)
The Guardian and WikiLeaks are embroiled in another row, this time over the leaking of hundreds of thousands of highly sensitive secret cables. WikiLeaks accused a Guardian journalist of leaking the passwords to the cables, which have caused an uproar because they have been released without any redactions. In an article, the paper firmly denied that it had done anything wrong, saying that it had been made to understand that the password was temporary and a "meaningless piece of information." It called the charges "nonsense."
GQ Names New Fashion Editor (FishbowlNY)
Jim Nelson, editor-in-chief of GQ, has named Justin Doss the magazine's new fashion editor. Doss was most recently a menswear buyer for Barney's.
