California Wildfires Result in Unprecedented User Uploads to CNN.com (Beet.tv)
Andy Plesser: The amount of user generated content from the California wildfires have set a record at CNN's i-Report. The number of video have surpassed citizen content surrounding the Minneapolis bridge collapse or the Virginia Tech shooting by more than fourfold. Surely the geographic extent of the fires and the millions of people effected have made this a historic event in the realm of citizen journalism.
Panelists: NYT Co. Ripe for a Buyout (Forbes)
"It's doable from a financial point of view," said Ron Burkle. "It's not as big as deal as you'd think." The obvious question: just how much time has Burkle spent thinking about the Times? Burkle pointed out that, unlike Dow Jones, the family that owns The New York Times has been actively engaged in managing the property.
MySpace, HarperCollins Collaborate on Book (AP)
MySpace is getting into the book business. The online social network, an increasingly popular venue for authors, booksellers, and publishers, is collaborating with a children's imprint of HarperCollins on an environmental handbook coming out April 22, Earth Day. The paperback original, to be called MySpace/Our Planet: Change is Possible, will be written by freelance journalist Jeca Taudte.

A definition, I suggest, which could be Mailer himself.
Does 'Scandal-Proof' Page Six Editor Have Compromising Photos of Murdoch? (The Phoenix)
Adam Reilly: Today, the Page Six payola scandal seems to have blown over, but it's also left a long-term taint on the brand. Factor in the Grigoriadis flap, and you might think that the Post would be inclined to entrust the Page Six reins to someone less (ahem) controversial. Apparently, though, you would be wrong.
Sid Evans Moves From Field & Stream to Garden & Gun (MIN)
Field & Stream EIC Sid Evans has been named editor of recent startup Garden & Gun. Prior to F&S, Evans was editor of Men's Journal. Evans said in a statement that G&G "is the most exciting magazine to come along in years."
Poll: Web Video Should be Regulated (Digital Arts)
More than half of US residents want the government to regulate Internet video in some way, according to a poll released Wednesday. Twenty-nine percent of those surveyed said Internet video should be regulated just like television content, and another 24 percent said the US government should institute an online rating system similar to the one used by the movie industry.
