The 3,500 cookbooks in Gourmet magazine's research library are becoming a part of the culinary collection at the Fales Library of New York University, one of the most extensive collections of culinary works in the country. Marvin J. Taylor, director of the Fales library, said cookbook author Rozanne Gold gave N.Y.U. $14,000 to buy the books from Condé Nast.

CBS Golf Analyst: 'One Word About Tiger, I Will Get Fired' (Huffington Post)
Ian Baker Finch, the former British Open champion who joined CBS Sports as a golf analyst in 2007, has suggested that he is under network orders not to speak about the Tiger Woods scandal. "Mate, if I say one word about Tiger I will get fired," the Sydney Morning Herald quotes Baker Finch as saying before playing in an Australian golf tournament Monday.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch Cuts Retiree Health Care (Press release via Romenesko)
The union representing St. Louis Post-Dispatch employees says its members were promised company-paid health coverage for life. "On the strength of that promise, many retired before becoming eligible for Medicare. They will now be forced to pay premiums as high as $1,161 a month for a husband and wife."


Facebook Rolling Out Direct Tweet Option (TechCrunch)
At some point this week, Facebook will roll out the ability to send your status updates to its rival, Twitter. This will be built-in directly to its UI and not through some separate app you have to install. It will be similar to the functionality it rolled out for its Pages feature in August, but this will be available on all profiles.
