The White House issued a press release yesterday criticizing last night's report on President Bush's Medicare push by CBS News' chief White House correspondent Jim Axelrod. Axelrod told CBS News blog Public Eye that the administration was doing a cut-and-paste job with the facts to make a point.

Chinese avant-garde rock star Dou Wei is being investigated over an incident in which a newspaper office was trashed and a car set on fire. Beijing News said Dou was complaining about an article on his relationship with girlfriend Gao Yuan and their alleged financial woes.
