After a news conference on Monday introducing Jimmy Fallon as the next host of the 12:35 a.m. Late Night series, Ben Silverman, the co-chairman of NBC Entertainment, acknowledged that the changing late-night landscape at the network would probably mean that Jay Leno would leave it.

Norm Pearlstine Jumps to Bloomberg (FishbowlNY)
Norm Pearlstine, former editor-in-chief of Time Inc. and onetime managing editor of The Wall Street Journal, has announced he is joining Bloomberg as "chief content officer." Most recently Pearlstine has been the senior advisor for telecom and media at the Carlyle Group. He also authored a book called Off the Record about the aftermath of Valerie Plame case. NYT: The move suggests that Bloomberg, whose fortunes have been buoyed by the selling of its hugely profitable data terminals to brokerage firms and investment banks, plans to expand the journalism side of its business.

Clear Channel in Settlement Talks, Trial Delayed (Reuters)
Talks are underway to settle a dispute over financing the $20 billion leveraged buyout of U.S. radio operator Clear Channel Communications Inc., the company said in a statement on Monday. A trial over the case was delayed by a day in New York and hearings were postponed in Texas as the discussions went on. NYT: The latest push for a settlement began Wednesday as Highfields Capital Management, one of Clear Channel's largest shareholders, and Morgan Stanley, one of the six banks involved, urged a settlement to avoid the uncertainties of an impending jury trial.

ESPN to Add Hannah Storm to SportsCenter Lineup (AP)
ESPN will add Hannah Storm to its SportsCenter lineup in August when it will supplant nine hours of taped programming in favor of live sports news. Storm, most recently on CBS' The Early Show, will co-anchor the middle three hours of ESPN's new daytime news block.

Nina Garcia Still Negotiating With Runway, Elle (WWD)
Despite reports, contract negotiations between Project Runway and its primary judges — Michael Kors and Nina Garcia — are still continuing, and negotiations for sponsorships and magazine partners for season six have yet to begin. Garcia is also still negotiating the terms — or the severing — of her relationship with Hachette Filipacchi Media, Elle's parent company.

Manhattan Media Acquires 'Harvard Lifestyle' Magazine 02138 (NYO)
02138, the lifestyle magazine for Harvard alumni has been sold to Manhattan Media, publishers of The New York Press, City Hall, The Chelsea Clinton News, and other papers. O1238 was launched in 2006 with the backing of Atlantic Media's David Bradley. According to a release, Manhattan Media sees the magazine as the centerpiece of an Ivy League Media play. Folio:: Sandow Media, the publisher of Worth, had been close to a deal to buy the magazine, according published reports and a source with direct knowledge of the talks. While Sandow failed to acquire the magazine, the company managed to hire away 02138 executive editor Richard Bradley as Worth's editor-in-chief.

PC World Editor-in-Chief to Step Down (MIN)
PC World editor-in-chief Harry McCracken will be leaving his post June 2 to start his own venture, according to a post on his blog. He will continue to play a role at PC World as contributing editor. "PC World has lots of ambitious things in the works. Even though I won't be on staff, I'm looking forward to seeing them become reality in the coming months," he wrote. Times of London Hires U.S. Vogue Editor to Helm Quarterly Luxury Mag (Guardian)
The Times of London has turned to U.S. Vogue for the appointment of a new editor for its quarterly glossy magazine Luxx. Mark Holgate, a senior fashion writer at Vogue in New York, will be the editor of Luxx and style director of the Times magazine. Holgate has worked at Vogue for five years and was previously fashion director of New York for four years.

Penthouse Gets Pious? (Newsweek)
Christian dating web site BigChurch.com's motto is "bringing people together in love and faith." A quote from the Old Testament precedes the site's Bible-verse search library. Further testimonial from a fresh-faced woman leaves little doubt as to the site's higher purpose. So it may surprise users that BigChurch.com has a decidedly promiscuous corporate parent: Penthouse Media Group Inc.

Liguori Leads Surging Fox (AdAge)
For the past several years, Fox has set the tone for broadcast TV. Sure, it runs fewer hours of original programming than NBC, CBS, and ABC. And it has no evening-news broadcast. Yet Fox's practice of launching its best-known shows in the second half of the season rather than the fall have helped it generate better momentum than rivals during an extremely difficult time for the broadcast business.

Magazine Publishes 100-Percent User-Generated Issue (Folio:)
User-generated content has been buzzed about in magazine circles for a few years, but editors have largely been reluctant to turn over pages to readers. But for its June issue, Budget Travel has allowed its readers to generate all of the text and photography. The magazine elicited some 2,800 pitches from readers. In the end there were 324 contributors for the issue. Folio:: Making a user-generated issue is "neither cheap nor easy."

HBO Shows May Sell on iTunes for $1.99+ (NYT)
After years of insisting on standard pricing for digital downloads, Apple is apparently ready to acknowledge that not all television shows are created equal. The company intends to put some episodes of HBO shows up for sale on the iTunes Store at a price higher than the $1.99 that it now charges for all current television episodes.

WaPo's Baker Explains Jump to Times (E&P)
Peter Baker, who left the Washington Post for The New York Times on Monday, said he did so because the Post's treatment of his wife, Susan Glasser, made it "untenable" for him to stay. "This is the inevitable decision," he said. "I would have happily stayed at the Post for my life. But it became untenable because of the decision they made three weeks ago."

People Runs Interview With Speed Racer Star Next to Text Identifying Him as a Pop Star (Radar)
Apparently the editors of People have a bit of a problem differentiating between Asian males. On page 38 of this week's issue, an interview with Korean Speed Racer actor Karl Yune is accompanied by text identifying him as Korean pop star Rain.

The Worst Show on a Cable News Network Is Still the Journal Editorial Report (Slate)
Jack Shafer: Hosted by Wall Street Journal editorial page editor Paul Gigot, The Journal Editorial Report on the Fox News Channel. draws its guest list almost exclusively from Gigot's staff and contributors to his page, making each installment an extended exercise in groupthink. Dim groupthink. Dim groupthink punctuated with laughter and knowing nods.
