A copy of the infamous manuscript by O.J. Simpson where he outlines how he would have killed his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson if he did it. Simpson denies having committed the crime. Plans for the book and a Fox News television special were announced in mid-November 2006. The project was canceled after a firestorm of controversy and an outcry from the public.
News Corp. Explores Swap of MySpace Site for Yahoo Stake (Times of London)
News Corporation has discussed swapping MySpace, its internet social networking unit, with Yahoo in return for a 25 per cent stake in the enlarged group. The discussions remain tentative and could collapse after the departure of Terry Semel as Yahoo's chief executive and his replacement by Jerry Yang this week. LAT: Yahoo's new CEO may have a credibility problem. NYP: Yang's Yahoo goes in reverse.

The New York Times is currently undertaking a major news investigation, led by managing editor Jill Abramson, into News Corp.'s business dealings throughout the world, according to a source with knowledge of the project. Currently, Abramson is working outside of the newsroom, recovering from injuries sustained during a traffic accident last month. NYO: London Times 1981 staffers have a lot to say about Murdoch and editorial independence.
The willingness of the big broadcast television networks to embrace change by making it easier to watch shows online and by adopting new types of ratings is contributing to stronger demand for commercial time ahead of the fall season.
CNN Will Go Beyond Reporting News (AP via USAT)
CNN plans to go beyond reporting the news by directing its viewers to charity and relief efforts involved in some of their stories. Hurricane Katrina and the Asian tsunami proved to CNN that viewers want to respond to the news, Jim Walton, CNN Worldwide president, said Tuesday. The "Impact Your World" initiative begins on Wednesday to coincide with World Refugee Day.
CBS Snags Anna Nicole Judge Seidlin (B&C)
Controversial Anna Nicole Smith Judge Larry Seidlin has committed to develop a fall 2008 court show with CBS Television Distribution, according to multiple industry sources. CTD declined to comment about the judge, who has resigned his seat on the Florida circuit family court effective at the end of July.
In a recent in-house memo, editor Rick Stengel made clear his desire that staffers contribute more online: "Evaluations of every Time writer, correspondent, and reporter will be based on the quality and quantity of the contributions each of you makes to both the magazine and to TIME.com. TIME.com is a daily responsibility; Time magazine is a weekly responsibility. TIME is made up of both."
When Bloggers Go Mainstream (Forbes)
With increasing frequency, media outlets big and small are deciding that if you can't beat 'em, buy 'em. And why not? Slammed by critics for not being Internet savvy, the moves are a natural. You get an instant audience and fresh talent steeped in a sensibility that's still evolving.
Elisabeth on Rosie: We Aren't Friendly (AP)
Elisabeth Hasselbeck says she and Rosie O'Donnell aren't on the best of terms nearly one month after their on-air dustup on The View. "Truthfully, I think a friend is someone who you have positive communications with, so I don't know if I would define us as friends right now," the 30-year-old co-host told Access Hollywood.
"There really hasn't been any major men's fashion book that wasn't sort of fad-related," argued Details publisher Chris Mitchell. Said editor Dan Peres: "We weren't sitting around and thinking, what can we do to compete with the Abs Diet? We said, you know what, so many men struggle with style. We consistently offer them service, guidance and advice in the magazine let's take that a step further."
Bernstein Back on the Beat (WaPo)
In a way, Carl Bernstein's Hillary bio feels like his attempt to shape the narrative of his own life as much as Clinton's; its very existence offers an alternative ending to the tale of his erratic post-Watergate career. Maybe one book can't offset the years when the bon vivant owned the low part of the seesaw and kept the serious writer stranded in midair. Maybe it can. FishbowlNY Video: Hillary and Bill spoof the Sopranos finale.

Parents Report More Clout in TV Oversight (LAT)
Parents are growing more confident that they can protect their kids from inappropriate content on TV, the Internet and video games, a new poll has found, but still worry that their children are exposed to too much sex and violence. The mixed results from the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation will probably provide ammunition for both sides in the increasingly heated debate over shielding children from excessive sex and violence in the media.
Condé Nast Traveler's Glowczeswka May Be Ending a Unique Second Career (MIN)
For more than a decade, the editor-in-chief was the Polish-to-English translator for acclaimed literary journalist Ryszard Kapuscinski. Travels with Herodotus, on the fifth-century-B.C. ancient Greek "father of history," was their third collaboration. With Kapuscinski's death last January, it was probably the last, though Glowczeswka says there "could be a collection of his unfinished work."
