Court: SF Chron Reporters Must Testify on Bonds Leak (AP)
The decision by a U.S. District Court means reporters Lance Williams and Mark Fainaru-Wada must appear before a grand jury investigating the leak unless a higher court blocks the ruling. The pair have said they would not testify and would go to jail rather than reveal their source or sources.
CBS to Offer Prime-Time Shows Online (LAT)
The network plans to air prime-time television programs, including its top-rated CSI series and Survivor shows, on the Internet for free. The shows will be made available on its high speed Internet channel innertube the morning after they air on the CBS broadcast network.
YouTube Suffers First Unplanned Outage (Reuters)
Web video sensation YouTube.com, which serves up more than 100 million videos online a day, suffered a six-hour breakdown on Tuesday its first-ever unplanned outage. "We are experiencing a temporary site outage due to a database-related issue," YouTube spokeswoman Julie Supan said. Reuters: YouTube is in talks with record labels about the possibility of posting thousands of music videos online.
The wife of a kidnapped Fox News cameraman said today she's been told by Palestinian officials her husband's captors acted on their own, without support from militant groups. The cameraman, Olaf Wiig, 36, of New Zealand, and Fox reporter Steve Centanni, 60, a U.S. citizen, were abducted Monday.
