Embattled Former CPB Board Chair Kenneth Tomlinson Resigns (B&C)
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting Board of Directors has been reviewing a report on Tomlinson's relationship with the board stemming from Tomlinson's attempts to add more conservative programming. NYT: The move strongly suggested that the inspector general discovered significant problems under Tomlinson. WaPo: It was Tomlinson's behind-the-scenes moves that apparently contributed to his departure. MediaCitizen: Tomlinson has left behind a coterie of GOP hacks who have occupied the offices of an agency that was put in place by Congress to act as a "heat shield"protecting public broadcasting producers from the hot political winds of Washington.
