Content for you media sales people: Today's feature, "A Day in the Life" by "Billy Lohman," (our undercover sales guy) chronicles a day in the trenches for a magazine ad salesman.
Send your own sales-related war stories to letters@mediabistro.com and we'll share the best. (If you prefer to remain anonymous, please state that in your letter.)
Roger Black responds to yesterday's letter from Neal Boulton: "In the interview I freely admitted that the latest Men's Fitness is doing better commercially than the one I worked on. I just regret that they didn't give my design a fair try. But, hey, I'd rather be a beautiful failure than a hideous success." For the full response, click HERE.
Men's Fitness editor-in-chief Neal Boulton responds to today's Roger Black's assessment of his magazine in a letter/op-ed to mediabistro (Click here to read the response). Says Boulton, "It's hard to tread on a legend, but, as the title suggests, he is a legend, not a current champion of today's trends...Today, America is governed by the bottom line. Hell, and why not, this country is made of money that you and I can win if the product sells enough."
