Alison Omens Leaves AFL-CIO To Join Its Community Affiliate Working America

Alison Omens will join Working America as Senior Communications Specialist starting October 5th. Omens was previously Media Outreach Specialist for the AFL-CIO.

The move keeps her involved with the organization as Working America is the community affiliate of the AFL-CIO. “We represent 3 million people who don’t have a union at their workplace,” Omens told PRNewser. “They care about the same issues unions do – health care, workers rights, green issues – Working America is bringing new people in and mobilizing them around economic issues and candidates.”

Omens said that the AFL-CIO handles all PR internally and that they will be hiring someone to replace her.
