Chrysler SVP of Comm. on 2009: ‘Unlike Any Other for the Automotive Industry’

In a letter sent to colleagues today, Chrysler Group SVP of Communications Gualberto Ranieri said that while 2009 “was unlike any other for the automotive industry,” the crisis forced the company “to cast off traditional ways of thinking and re-imagine what needs to be done in order to succeed.”

Ranieri came to Chysler seven months ago. He previously served as Vice President, Communications at Fiat Group, which acquired Chrysler this past June. His full letter to colleagues after the jump.

Dear Colleagues,

It’s been an eventful year, one that was unlike any other for the automotive industry. As we pause and reflect on 2009, I’m sure you’ll agree that this year stands out for the challenges faced and the changes that occurred in both of our industries.

The positive aspect of a crisis is that it forces us to cast off traditional ways of thinking and re-imagine what needs to be done in order to succeed. Here at Chrysler Group LLC, we have taken major steps forward, including forming a global partnership with Fiat.

As you know, we recently unveiled a detailed five-year (2010-2014) plan that is our pathway to returning Chrysler to being a truly competitive force in the auto industry. It’s comprehensive, it’s ambitious, and it’s serious. It’s a plan for which the Chrysler Group leadership team would like to ultimately be held accountable. To date, our plan, that will be executed with rigor and discipline, is still unmatched.

As 2009 draws to a close, we want to wish you, your family and all your loved ones a safe and joyous holiday season. The entire Chrysler Group Communications Team looks forward to working with you in 2010.

Sincerely,

Gualberto Ranieri and the Chrysler Group Communications Team
