CNN’s Anderson Cooper will host a one-hour town hall special on Friday, October 8 titled Bullying: No Escape; an AC 360 Special report with People Magazine and Cartoon Network that will tackle the issue of bullying in America. Among the guests scheduled to appear are American Idol finalist Crystal Bowersox and TV psychologist Dr. Phil McGraw.
Leading up to the special report, Anderson Cooper 360° and People Magazine will air a week-long report on bullying. Anderson Cooper has dealt with the subject in previous reports.
The initiative coincides with Bullying Prevention Month. CNN will also air a series “Back to School=Back to Bullies” on American Morning, with a special segment for the series on HLN, CNN Student News, and CNN.com/Bullying. People Magazine will dedicate a special package on the subject in the October 18 issue.
And Cartoon Network, has announced a long-term commitment through the “Stop Bullying: Speak Up” initiative launching Monday, October 4 in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of America, The Anti-Defamation League, The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services “Stop Bullying Now” campaign. The network will provide an online resources for parents.
