Daily News Pubisher Mort Zuckerman: I Helped Write One of Obama’s Speeches

Perhaps this will provide some perspective to those in the PR community struggling with the ethics of writing blogs, op-eds, or even Tweets for their busy executive bosses or clients.

In an interview last night with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto, longtime media mogul and publisher and owner of the New York Daily News Mort Zuckerman said that he helped write one of President Obama’s speeches.

Zuckerman wouldn’t comment as to which speech he helped with, but watch the video here and see how Cavuto is clearly intrigued by Zuckerman’s reveal.

UPDATE: Zuckerman now clarifies that he didn’t technically help Obama write a speech. “My point in noting during a recent television interview that I had once ‘helped’ contribute to one of Barack Obama’s campaign speeches was to reflect the fact that my recent criticisms of the president came from someone who had been supportive of him, who had voted for him, and whose newspaper endorsed him,” he said in a blog post.
